Since the proposed EP Standards are designed for the entire industry, the BEPP believes in maintaining transparency and providing regular updates on the process. That's why we've created this page to keep you informed.

We'll continue to update this page as we make progress with Standard development and other BEPP projects.

Working Group Updates

The Working Group is comprised of over 115 industry professionals who make recommendations to the Technical Committee for final consideration, revision, and approval.

The hard work of the Working Group is now completed.  The members have made substantial contributions, enriching the three documents (Operational Foundation, Operational Progression, and Operations Management) that will form the proposed ASNI Standard for Providing Executive Protection.

Technical Committee Updates

The Technical Committee is comprised over 40 seasoned industry professionals responsible for developing new or revised language for ANIS purposed Standards. This Committee will also approve or reject recommendations made by the Working Group.

The BEPP Technical Committee is the consensus body and will follow the voting procedures.

To date 15 Aug 2024, the Technical Committee has dedicated over 76 hours to meticulously reviewing all the Working Groups recommendations and every line of the proposed ANSI Standard for Providing Executive Protection, holding 38 meetings, each lasting two hours. This significant time commitment does not include the countless hours each member has spent individually reviewing the document and providing valuable writing recommendations.

Many more hours of work are still required, and meetings are scheduled for every Tuesday until the project is completed.

Board Certification Test Updates

The Board of Executive Protection Professionals (BEPP) has partnered with Prometric to develop the first-of-its-kind Board Certification exam for Executive Protection Operations.  It is important to note that Prometric, a third-party professional organization, is responsible for the process and development of the Board Certification Test.  Prometric is the same organizations that have created Board Certification tests for ASIS and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

The objective of the initiative is to create a nationally recognized certification for executive protection.  Passing this exam will award the individual the accreditation of:

“Certified Executive Protection Professional (™)" (CEPP)
